Prometheus Foundation
A non-profit that teaches the technology reshaping the world — AI today, as computers were a generation ago — quickly and affordably, so the knowledge gap never has time to harden into inequality.
What it is
Every generation has one technology that quietly redraws the line between who gets ahead and who gets left behind. Forty years ago it was the personal computer. Today it’s AI. Tomorrow it will be something we can’t fully name yet. Prometheus Foundation is a non-profit I’m helping build to teach the technology of the day to everybody — not just engineers, and not just the people already comfortable with it.
The name is the mission. Prometheus took fire from the gods and gave it to ordinary people. We do the same with the era’s most powerful technology: take it out of the hands of the few and put it, with the understanding to use it well, into the hands of everyone.
Why I’m building it
When a transformative technology arrives, the people who learn it early compound their advantage for decades, while everyone else spends years catching up to a world that has already moved on. That lag is where inequality is manufactured. The fix isn’t slowing the technology down — it’s collapsing the time and cost it takes ordinary people to get fluent in it. Get knowledge to people fast and cheap, and opportunity arrives fast for everybody, not just the well-positioned. Making it a non-profit keeps that honest: the point is access, not a funnel.
Right now that technology is AI, so that’s where we’re starting — practical, honest skills, and the judgement to know where it falls short.
What I’m learning
Teaching a fast-moving, easily-overhyped technology to a general audience is its own engineering problem: cutting through the noise, being honest about limits, and giving people something they can actually do rather than just marvel at. The hard part isn’t the models — it’s the curriculum and the trust. And because the foundation is built to outlast any single technology, the real design challenge is a method for teaching the next thing as fast as this one, before the gap reopens.

Just getting started — standing up the foundation, the curriculum around AI, and the first sessions. Early days, but the direction is set.
